Sheri Beyer

Ms. Beyer moved to New Orleans in 2012. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration at the University of New Orleans. Ms. Beyer received her Masters of Education in Higher Educational Leadership from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Hawai'i Pacific University. Prior to joining our firm, she advised F-1 and J-1 international students and scholars in higher education for 11 years. She is an active presenter for NAFSA: Association of International Educators F-1 for Beginners Intermediate Pre-Conference CEP Workshops, a member of the NAFSA Trainer Corps, and was a NAFSA Academy Coach. Ms. Beyer focuses on family and employment-based immigration cases as well as J-1 Visa Waivers.

Ms. Branton obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Louisiana State University, and received paralegal certification from the University of New Orleans. She is experienced in both family-based and employment-based immigration matters. Ms. Branton has been with Ware|Immigration since 2010. Prior to joining the firm, her experience was in the area of Louisiana workers' compensation law. She is fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Guillory obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University and her doctorate in Neurobiology from the University of Chicago. Prior to joining Ware|Immigration, she was a researcher with universities and institutes. She specializes in employment-based immigration matters, with a focus in the EB-1 and O-1 categories and in National Interest Waivers

Ms. Herzog is a native New Orleanian. From an early age, she had an appreciation for and desire to know other cultures. After graduating from the University of New Orleans and earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in English, she had the fortunate opportunity to live in Mexico for three years. Ms. Herzog joined the firm in 2008. She specializes in employment-based immigration matters, specifically handling the firm's H-1B petitions.

Ms. McMellan was born in La Ceiba, Honduras, and has lived in New Orleans since 1972. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems at Loyola University in New Orleans, and her certification from the University of New Orleans Paralegal Studies program. She is experienced in both employment-based and family-based immigration laws and fluent in Spanish.

Ms. McKinney is a native of Miami, Florida. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Florida and a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies, with a focus on World Religions from Georgetown University. She has over eighteen years of administrative experience, including eight years in the field of immigration law, that were acquired at universities in the southeast region. Ms. McKinney specializes in permanent labor certifications and employment-based permanent residency cases.

Ms. Munoz, a native of Mexico, is fluent in Spanish and French. She has been with the firm since 1987 and is skilled in all areas of immigration law, with specialization in business immigration and labor certification.

Ms. Peterson earned her Bachelor’s degree from Hamline University in St. Paul, MN. Having also studied at the Universidad Austral de Chile, she speaks Spanish. She focuses on employment-based immigration, particularly permanent labor certifications.

Ana Miriam Varela worked for several years at the U.S. Consulate General in El Salvador, assisting with the processing of immigrant and nonimmigrant visas. Ms. Varela was also in charge of replying to the Congressional inquiries received regarding all types of visas. She focuses on consulate processing and family matters, and is fluent in Spanish.

Ms. Vincent, a native of Cuba, received a B.A. from Loyola University in New Orleans, and Certificate in Paralegal Studies from the University of New Orleans. She has been with the firm since 1996. She is fluent in Spanish and is skilled in all areas of immigration law, specializing in litigation and removal.

Ms. Vodak earned her Bachelor's degree from Cornell University and her Master's from the University of Oxford. Prior to joining Ware Immigration, she worked at the Massachusetts Office of Attorney General and held a Fulbright grant in Sri Lanka. Ms. Vodak also has previous immigration experience working with J and H visas at Texas A&M University and family-based immigration. Ms. Vodak has traveled extensively and lived in eight countries.

Ms. West earned her Bachelor’s degree in Russian and East European Studies from the University of Washington and completed a post-graduate paralegal certificate program at Highline Community College. Ms. West has specialized in employment-based immigration law since 2005 and has extensive experience in labor certifications, permanent residency applications, and nonimmigrant visa processing.
